Burnt Sky

I swear… I think I’m pretty tired of Naruto angst fiction… What happened to all of those great and wacky romantic comedies that I so loved? I want Sasuke the bastard and closet pervert, not Sasuke the emo weeping uke! And Naruto!? Why is he such a little girl lately? Despite the fact that he’s sexy in a skirt (see three entries below), he’s probably not about to sprout mammaries and excrete some children! Back in my day, they were boys being boys, who just happened to screw once in a while, precluded by fierce physical fights e.g. foreplay. Sasuke’s the best when he wants Naruto and is in denial… and Naruto’s best when he’s being his bratty little self, and completely oblivious to Sasuke’s (and everyone’s urhurh) affection.

At least that’s the way it should be… in my world… back in the day.

Makes me really want to draw Naruto again.

So I had this idea see… something to do with Naruto and wolves, and this is what my brain vomited out quite happily. Here’s the story behind the image:

“Many generations ago, there existed a great fox-beast with fur the colour of gold, and crimson eyes so full of menacing that all would tremble at its feet. It was known as the Kyuubi no Youko, and having survived for thousands of years in the primordial world, had reached the status of Godhood. The Kyuubi no Youko was said to have been a plague upon the living beings of the jungles, causing destruction and strife wherever his great paws landed and his nine great tails swung. He was a beast of chaos and malice, and when he passed through the lands the sky wept tears of crimson. The Wolves, those favoured by the higher gods themselves, took it upon themselves to rid the world of his fearful presence, and with much bloodshed and loss, slayed him brutally.

With his dying breath, the great Godbeast made an impression of himself upon a young Wolf female in a final act of desperation, and nine months later she gave birth to a beast, the very likeness of the Godbeast himself. The Wolves, in fear and shock slayed the child before it could let out its first mewl, and took care to watch for any other attempts at the cunning youko’s revival.

It is said that every hundred years a child is born amongst the great Wolves who live in the jungles, with fur the colour of gold, and the symbol of the great Kyuubi no Youko emblazened around his navel.

This child is more animal than hunter, more instinct than intellect, more beast than wolf, and feared and revered by all. The child is masked from birth. Upon the day of his coming of age, he is reavealed to the masses thus signifying the beginning of the great hunt, where the strongest of warriors race through the jungles to be the first to slay him, he who carries the blood of the Godbeast Kyuubi; fitter, stronger, more agile, and infinately more cunning than mere Wolves. The one who brings back his head is crowned the village chief, and he and his descendants hold that right, the glory and the honour, until the next child is born and the hunt begins anew.

Every hundred years the child is born with a symbol more elaborate than the one before. Every hundred years, the child is less wild and more wolf-like. Every hundred years, it becomes more unsettling to see the tears of a child, rather than the rage of a beast. Every hundred years the villagers grow more camplacent. Within the child who carries the mere shadow of a God, the Kyuubi’s power weakens, and the child begins to shine.

In the past 300 hundred years, the rules of the hunt have changed. Now the hunters are the village youth, those burgeouning on their own coming of age, the ones who carry the future of their village on their backs. The one who succeeds in capturing the spirited child is the first to graduate to the next level of hunter, and has the highest standing in becoming village leader in the future. The winner also has honour of taking the child as his future mate…

It has been one thousand years since the Kyuubi’s demise, and another child has been born, this one more golden and vibrant than any before. More beautiful and more vivacious, easily capturing the hearts and minds of everyone around him. This one more dangerous as well. Because this child, who remains unacknowledged as anything other than a trophy, wants to create a name for himself in this village hidden in the leaves. This child will be no one’s mate.

…And he wants the position as leader for himself.

So the great hunt begins again in the legendary Wolf village, Konoha!”

Yikes have I ever been busy lately! Between going out with friends, to D&D games, to signing up for driving lessons and more importantly school, I haven’t had I chance to post a thing, much less draw! I’m working on Kitsune Heat though that’s for sure, and my sketchbook has been getting a workout.

One Piece 424-426: Oh yesses and oh noes! Only a few things to say… 1) NicoNami is cannon damnit! Cannon!! Nami just can’t get enough of the girllove. 2) Luffy x Usopp is LOVE! Man I can’t wait to read the next chapter just to get Luffy’s reaction. Oh Usopp, you love your captain don’t deny it! 3) Why are things looking so bleak…? and yet… 4) Where has Sanji disappeared to this time? Oh ho ho! Oda-sensei you have something up your sleeve don’t you?

Ah One Piece, je t’aime, je t’aime!

I’ve mostly been doodling in my sketchbook lately, but I have also been working on this oekaki. It’s taking me awhile but I’m really enjoying working on it… I do so love oekaki!

So I’ve gone ahead fallen in love with a new television series called Eureka. Apparently the first season has already shown in the States, but we’re only getting it in Canada now… yeah I love it. Makes me laugh, really, really hard. There needs to be a bigger fandom, although I suppose that will come with more exposure. As it is, I adore the characters and situations already! Long story short, it’s about a U.S. Marshall who becomes sherriff of the town of Eureka, a top secret town in the U.S. home to all of the countries intellectual elite. They have the best of everything, and in return, they intermarry, producing more geniuses, and provide America with incredible technology. It sounds like it would be cheesily serious, but it’s absolutely hilarious! All the characters are pure love, and I adore the way they interact with each! I have one new series to add to my “to watch this year” list, and that’s saying a lot for me, since I never watch tv. I’m still trying to decide whether to watch the first season on tv or just download it all… Do I want to catch up or just go with the series? I think I’ll watch it on tv, but it’s nice to have a backup if I miss an episode.

Saw Kakurenbo recently. I love the animation and the character designs are awesome. I wish it were longer though, I totally fell in love with those twins at first sight. And the main character is voiced by Takeuchi Junko! That’s Naruto for those not in the know. I recognized him (her) immediately! So cute!

Love, LOVE Reborn, which is the first manga I’ve actually bought in a really long time! Such a funny story. Reborn kick’s ass and he’s so monstrously adorable! Who doesn’t love a mafia hitman 3 year old from the biggest mafia family? But seriously it’s Lambo I love. I mean almost obsessively! He’s a five year old mafia hitman who sees Reborn as his rival (wants to be friends…? wants Reborn to like him…?), but Reborn is “top class”, and doesn’t associate with lower classed personnel particularly if they’re from another family like Lambo is. Lambo’s “perseverence” and sobbing kill me every time~! ♥ He’s such an amusing character all on his own, but when he switches with his “10 years in the future” self I just die! Mostly from perverted love! He’s so cute (totally an uke, lol)!! It makes me scream with desire to see Reborn 10 years in the future! I’m sure he and Lambo would make a hilarious (hot) couple! Hahaha I love being a pervert! …although the current toddler Reborn has already had 4 lovers, so I suppose it isn’t so much of a stretch for him to have another at 13!

I’m thinking of finding another gallery script for my site, as the website for the one I’m using now seems to have fallen off the face of the planet! Which sucks because I really liked it, and I went ahead and customized it hard too. But I’m just thinking about it… hopefully the site will be back up soon and development will continue. It’s so easy to use!

Anyway I’m hungry. I’m gonna go eat.

So I’m slowly and surely working up a new layout indeed indeed. Know this… It will be bright, and it will be large… That is all. I’ve actually got a couple of pages of sketches down, and I’m hard at work on the Photoshop file. Of course I need to finish the main splash image before I get any further with it lol. This weekend I’ll get the sketch down and see how much I can accomplish. Tomorrow Cawnswella and I are heading to the new Value Village, hurrah! I plan on being a ninja this Hallow’s Eve, and I need to find some costume bits. Wish me luck all as I suck at costumes and I fear I’m gonna need it.

You know… I wonder when I’m going to start adding posts into the ‘pornograffiti’ category…? Maybe when I can figure out how to password protect certain posts, lol! Yay pervo-land…
